What are some good or great things about Hitler (like methods, ideas, ideals, successes)?
The article below from Quora.com by Luke Harrison is a very extensive pictorial resource so I have reproduced it here. It is a useful supplement to my own article about Hitler. Luke is a WWII history buff speaking strictly as an historian
Adolf Hitler passed an animal rights law.
This law alone protected animals in many ways:
It was a crime to abuse animals.
Hunting seasons were established.
Experiments on animals became illegal.
All animals were to be treated with respect.
Since this law was passed after Hitler came to power, products were no longer tested on animals. Hitler even became a vegetarian because he believed that if he didn’t eat meat, no animals were harmed for him.
Hermann Göring himself stated that he would not have any problems of sending someone to a detention center for abusing his pet.
Hitler also went on to pass a controlled law on smoking.
After Hitler came to power, discoveries were made that nicotine was addictive and that smoking caused cancers.
Hitler went on to make anti-smoking campaigns and became the first European leader to do so. An age was put on smoking. Pregnant women were highly encouraged to not smoke.
Smoking was banned in public places, and smoking areas were established. Hitler also went on to ban smoking for uniformed personnel.
Hitler beautified and modernized Germany. Hitler’s idea was to make a modern Germany, a perfect world. A country where the German can own a car, and contribute to the modern world. The above picture is taken of Berlin in the 1930’s. Look at the lights installed on more buildings. Berlin sure did light up at night, as the modern world Hitler imagined.
This was Brandenburg Gate before Hitler came to power.
This was Brandenburg Gate after Hitler came to power.
It was in the capital of Germany, a modernized world to be a part of all of Germany.
Two things happened on April 20th, 1939. Ferdinand Porsche gave Hitler his very own car for his birthday. And Adolf Hitler Day became an official holiday from 1939–1944.
This day was special, because Hitler didn’t get rewarded on this day. His German people did. Families that received low income were rewarded up to 20 Reichsmarks, a day off, and people would receive free copies of Mein Kampf. In addition to that, the postal service was free. Wives were able to send these books to their deployed husbands for free.
The story went something like this, Hitler came up with the VW Beetle while he was at a restaurant with Ferdinand Porsche.
This design was not built by Hitler. It was built by Porsche. However; Hitler told Porsche that he wanted to modernize Germany. Make a famous car design that any German would be able to afford. Basically a people’s car. Hitler told him what he wanted in his people’s car, and Porsche built it.
The Beetle became affordable, reliable, cheap, and revolutionary. They were being built, but once war broke out, they stopped building them, and the Kubelwagen started being built for the war effort.
(I couldn’t find the original picture for Nazi Germany insurance).
Reich Insurance was introduced. It was national and was aimed at the German public that included disability benefits, retirement benefits, etc. Pensioners were given Reich Insurance for free, and single payers were reported to the NSDAP Bureaucracy.
Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth) at first was optional for young boys. It then became mandatory by 1936 for all boys aged from 10–18.
It was a lot like the boy scouts, except it added a lot more benefits. Boys transferring to the Wehrmacht/SS from the Hitler Youth would receive benefits such as faster promotions for their service in the Hitler Youth.
Boys who served in the Hitler Youth were guaranteed a good job upon completion, and were even given more college/education options. The Hitler Youth was beneficiary, even though some people thought it was a bad idea.
This is Hitler shoveling dirt for the Autobahn’s construction ceremony.
The Autobahn alone provided 110,000+ Germans with jobs. The material production for it gave an additional 235,000+ jobs. Without a doubt, Hitler did provide a good economic life for Germany.
Germany became the world leader in economy at the time that other people from other country’s started to support Hitler and his Regime.
Nazi Bunds were established in the US. Nazi officials visited the US. Most memorable visit was the funeral for the victims of the Hindenburg disaster.
There was even a street named Adolf Hitler street in New York.
Not to mention, Hitler gained a lot of support in the US.
Madison Square Garden filled with pro-Nazis.
Hitler undoubtedly had a good idea, and a good vision for a perfect world. However; don’t let this distract you from the dark side.
